Short visits, nights and a ten-day commitment
HEART's $100 price is for a three-hour visit. Its additional daytime hours and overnight hours have separate rates, so the $30 figure should not be used as the starting price for an entire daytime booking. The service page lists shifts of three to twelve hours.
Chicago Family Doulas publishes its day, night and live-in ranges on the intake page. A live-in hourly listing does not establish a flat daily price or continuously awake care.
Almavie's commuter schedule is 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; its night schedule is 10 p.m.–6 a.m. The live-in model is described as 24-hour care, but working hours, breaks and overnight rest need to be agreed in the contract. All three models have a ten-day minimum. Commuter and live-in care include household support with meals; additional family meal preparation and meal delivery are listed as optional services.
Venus lists seven home visits, typically lasting four to five hours, for $2,600 in Chicago proper or $2,800 in the suburbs. Meal preparation and bodywork are among its offerings.
Booking a feeding appointment separately
Chicago Birthworks lists the same 90-minute appointment length for its $200 in-person and $150 virtual consultations, with one week of virtual follow-up.
The Mother's Milk Company offers home consultations in Chicago and near suburbs. Its typical visit length of one and a half to two hours is an estimate, not a guaranteed appointment duration.
Check the named practitioner's credentials and ask your health plan about the specific appointment before relying on reimbursement. This guide does not establish clinical qualifications or insurance coverage.
Arranging Chinese confinement support
If you want Chinese-speaking yuesao care or Chinese confinement meals, ask providers about those requirements before booking; the services listed here do not confirm them. Discuss who buys ingredients, whether cooking is part of paid care hours and how meals fit around infant-care duties.
Scope and further planning
Golden Month selected these services from official service, fee and inquiry pages, then checked the listed offers against their sources a second time. We have not booked or visited them. The research is strongest in Chicagoland; it does not establish statewide coverage or the absence of other providers.
